How does AviClear® work?

Acne is caused by excess oil production in the pores of the skin (sebaceous glands). The skin reacts to a combination of sebum, debris, and dead skin cells trapped in the pores, causing acne. As a result of targeting the pores, AviClear® reduces sebum production by sebocytes or specialized cells found in the skin. It also reduces the frequency and intensity of active and future breakouts by reducing sebum production.

What should I expect during an AviClear® treatment?

AviClear® is an easy and quick treatment. The specialized handpiece will be applied to the area after the area has been cleansed and prepared by our team. AviClear® is generally described as a light snapping sensation but otherwise isn’t painful. It also features a unique cooling technology to prevent heat buildup during treatment. You can resume your normal schedule after treatment.

What results can I expect?

There is virtually no downtime with AviClear®. Unlike other acne treatments, such as retinoids, it also produces minimal side effects. It’s normal to experience some redness and slight purging after treatment, but you can return to your normal routine.

Typically, AviClear® requires three treatments spaced 2-4 weeks apart. With this method, you don’t have to commit as long as you would with retinol, which can take months to work. The results of AviClear® are long-lasting, but you can easily return for maintenance treatments as needed.
